Temporary RN Position – 3-11 Shift
HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy is looking for a temporary RN to cover the evening shift in our residential facility, not to exceed July 19, 2017. This is a 40 hour/week position which includes an obligation to work 1 weekend every 4 weeks. The position will begin in May. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to provide direct student care, manage student health needs and supervise personal care staff. Responsibilities include caring for medically fragile students with complex needs in order to provide continuity of care. Strong leadership and effective communication with parents and colleagues are essential components of this position.
Pediatric experience is preferred. Must have current Pennsylvania RN license required. Background checks will be required.
Social Worker – We are seeking an experienced MSW to provide support services to students with complex, multiple disabilities and their families. The Social Worker also supports the coordination of each student’s Individual Education Program (IEP) and Post-21 Transition Planning.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with individuals with complex disabilities
- Familiarity with IDEA and the Special Education Process
- Experience with Post-21 Transition Planning for individuals with complex needs
- History of working on interdisciplinary teams, particularly in an education or health care setting,
PA Licensed Social Worker and MSW required. This position is full time, year-round, working with the senior MSW and beginning as soon as the application and hiring processes, including background checks, can be completed.
Personal Care Assistant- Monday through Friday Day Shift/One Weekend a month
Duties include promoting and providing the highest quality physical and emotional care to HMS students, providing assistance to students by performing and facilitating tasks the students cannot do for themselves, while encouraging independence when appropriate. PCAs participate in classroom settings and during recreational activities.
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 21 yrs old in accordance with Department of Public Welfare which regulates our residence. Experience working with children is a plus.
Wheelchair Mechanic/Part-time: We currently have need for an in-house mechanic who can make repairs to power and manual wheelchairs and other equipment for our students.
Experience with wheelchair repair experience is preferred but not necessary. But must have experience using hand and power tools, as well as soldering. Enjoy working with our friendly, professional staff. Since we are a school, you will enjoy summers off and some extended breaks during the school year.
