During the month of February, the HMS community celebrated the legacy of Martin Luther King by donating “bedtime” items including books, new pajamas and underwear for the children served by the Philadelphia organization, Cradles to Crayons.
HMS students raised the funds for the new purchases by running a bake sale that netted $358. They enjoyed shopping online and practiced important life skills by carefully scrolling to watch for sales, find the cutest styles, and purchase a range of sizes. In all, the students donated 67 pajamas, 45 pairs of socks, 48 pairs of underwear and 61 books.
