Comprehensive Nursing Care for Students with Complex Medical Needs

At HMS, our dedicated team of licensed pediatric nurses provides round-the-clock, five to seven-day-a-week care, ensuring the health and safety of students with complex medical conditions. Under the leadership of the Vice President of Health Services and the Medical Director, our nurses work alongside trained caregiving staff to deliver expert medical support tailored to each child’s needs.

On-Site Medical Support & Seamless Integration

Our nurses administer medications, tube feedings, and treatments at the student’s location, minimizing disruptions to learning and school activities. We maintain open communication with families, easing transitions between home, school, and medical procedures. Should an emergency arise, our team is fully equipped to respond and coordinate transport to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), located just over a mile away.

Personalized Care & Collaboration

Each student is assigned to a dedicated nursing team committed to providing compassionate, individualized care. We collaborate with families, physicians, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care, while our trained caregiving staff remains vigilant tending to any changes in medical or emotional well-being. Daily communications through our electronic medical record keeps everyone informed and engaged in each child’s care plan.

Specialized Medical Services On-Site

Beyond daily medical needs, HMS provides access to on-site screenings and specialty care in:

  • Orthopedics (including brace fittings and adjustments)
  • Optometry
  • Dentistry
  • Hearing screenings

ensuring students receive ongoing support for their health and success.

Note: Some additional nursing services may require personal insurance coverage.
